1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday? Obviously the birds and close contact with the nature. 2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday? If you are not a pro bird watcher 3 days probably would be enough; Other activities in the area are very limited. 3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation? I believe our visit in pandemic helped them to run the business, however the most important thing is that we would recommend the place and family to our friends after we come back, maybe in a process of years that would bring more educated tourist to the area. 4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall? Very good, I did not expect so many birds to be seen and from so close, hospitality and care from the hosts was superb, living conditions met the standard of anybody.

We had a perfect holiday thanks to Andrei and his staff: fantastic food, accommodation, scenery and bird life. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing holiday at Bunica Maria, the hosts were friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The hotel was well equipped, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The food was excellent and was all local produce.

Bunica Maria at Mahmudia is an excellent base to see the Danube Delta Reserve and some of the surrounding area, which is representative of the entire Delta area. Our boat trips showed how this wetland environment is varied and included several lakes. The lodging, as well as the provision of the meals, were a family affair and both were definitely top-notch. I enjoyed so much the variation of fish dishes. Andrei, our guide and host, was excellent and showed a deep love and appreciation of the Delta. Andrei provided an enjoyable and congenial environment for everyone. His boat was very comfortable and provided excellent viewing of the surroundings. He was very knowledgeable about the biodiversity and enthusiastic and helpful in conveying this information to the tour participants. The many species of waterfowl as well as other bird species were the main attraction and I doubt could be seen anywhere else.

Great experience, guide Andrei was knowledgable, enthusiastic, friendly, and professional. He went out of his way to ensure that our group of 4 had an enjoyable and satisfactory experience. Accomodations were terrific, as were the home-cooked meals that were included. Would recommend! Trip date: September 2021

Fantastic place to stay in the Danube Delta. Simply an amazing experience. A great hotel in a nice small town - right on the Danube Delta. The folks who run the hotel are super helpful and will completely look after you. I would certainly stay here again. Highly recommended!
