Tag Carasuhat Area

The Carasuhat area is one of the most important bird habitats near Mahmudia in the Danube Delta region. This protected wetland complex includes shallow lakes, reedbeds and seasonal floodplains that attract large concentrations of waterbirds and migratory species. Pelicans, herons, egrets, glossy ibises, pygmy cormorants, spoonbills, terns and numerous waders use the area for breeding, feeding and stopover during migration. Its proximity to Mahmudia and diverse habitats make the Carasuhat area a prime location for birdwatching and wildlife photography throughout the year.

Its mosaic of aquatic and semi-aquatic ecosystems contributes to high avian density and seasonal population dynamics, making Carasuhat an ecologically important component of the lower Danube basin.
